Essential Oil - Ylang Ylang |

In aromatherapy, ylang-ylang essential oil has a calming, sedative effect. It is used to counteract stress, anxiety and depression and is also thought to be helpful in reducing high blood pressure. It is added to skin care preparations for its supposed rejuvenating properties and its ability to balance sebum production makes it especially effective for oily skin. Although generally non-irritant and non-toxic, ylang ylang essential oil should always be diluted before applying to skin Air Freshener - For a calming, restorative fragrance, mix 3-4 drops of ylang ylang with 2-3 drops bergamot essential oil with the water in a vaporising diffuser. Pot Pourri - Add a few drops of ylang ylang essential oil to a mixture containing bay leaves, orange flowers, sandalwood chips and crushed cinnamon sticks in a base of wood curls. Conditioning - Hair Rinse Mix a few drops ylang ylang oil with a tablespoon of cider vinegar and add to final rinse water. |
